About DDIC
Downtown Denver Islamic Center (DDIC) empowers low-income immigrants, refugees, and other vulnerable Denverites through food relief, family navigation, emergency cash assistance, and culturally competent community-building programs. Our “Flourish 2030” strategic plan calls for expanding services, building a vibrant community center, and investing in talent, technology, and infrastructure so every newcomer can thrive in their new “community garden.”
As a volunteer Board Member, you will partner with fellow directors and DDIC’s leadership team to guide the organization’s next stage of growth.

Strong Denver ties or lived immigrant/refugee experience.
Skilled & Experienced in at least one of these areas:
Major-gift fundraising or grantmaking
Finance / accounting
Legal / risk management
Commercial real-estate or construction (future community-center project)
Marketing / communications
Technology & data systems
Strategic Thinkers
Comfortable with growth, metrics, and long-range planning.
Team Players
Collaborative, respectful, and willing to mentor emerging leaders.

Commitment & Term
Time
~4 board meetings/year + committee/work (~6–8 hrs / month)
Events
Attend two community gatherings or food-relief events annually.
Term
3-year renewable term (board is adding one new member each year).
