Our organization relies on annual income growth to support the expanding operational costs of our programs and services. The ED will be responsible for establishing income targets to support program growth, capital improvements, and expansion. Key responsibilities include:

• Developing and implementing a fundraising and development plan
• Managing and executing fundraising events
• Creating and managing an annual appeal
• Continuously researching and reaching out to new private, foundation, and corporate donors for sponsorship opportunities
• Cultivating and managing relationships with individual, foundation, and corporate donors

• Overseeing and supporting existing programs and ensuring alignment with DDIC’s mission and vision
• Assisting in researching and initiating new partnerships while maintaining existing ones
• Occasionally participating in programs to ensure they meet the organization’s standards and serve the target beneficiaries effective

As a growing organization, DDIC requires a dynamic and creative leader who can actively recruit, develop, and coach staff, and volunteers. The ED will foster a positive environment of collaboration, teamwork, and shared accountability, with a primary focus on delivering exceptional community programming. Specific responsibilities include:

• Developing and maintaining a staffing plan in line with the organization’s strategic plan
• Ensuring compliance with all DDIC employment policies and external regulations
• Hiring, onboarding, and managing the performance of all staff

• Providing timely and comprehensive information to the Board of Directors (BOD) to support effective governance
• Collaborating with the BOD to establish and implement the organization’s strategic plans based on its mission and vision
• Building relationships with board members to better engage and support the organization’s goals
• Actively participating in board recruitment and development in collaboration with board leadership
• Managing the development and distribution of board meeting materials, ensuring official records of the organization, e.g., agendas, minutes, are securely retained, and maintaining the annual meeting calendar
• Attending all scheduled Board of Directors meetings

The ED will oversee the efficient maintenance and operations of DDIC facilities. Key responsibilities include:

• Managing all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, planning, and reporting
• Handling leases, insurance, taxes, and payroll
• Collaborating with the Board Treasurer to develop the annual operating budget for BOD review and approval
• Preparing financial reports for presentation and review by the BOD, with assistance from the Treasurer
• Ensuring compliance with financial and legal reporting requirements, e.g., those related to DDIC’s 501(c)(3) status

In collaboration with the BOD, the ED will be responsible for effectively communicating DDIC’s mission, vision, programs, and events to all stakeholders. Key responsibilities include:

• Developing and implementing a robust marketing strategy
• Providing guidance for maintaining an active social media presence
• Promoting DDIC’s brand and raising awareness among all constituents
• Actively pursuing public speaking and presentation opportunities for the ED and Board members to build support and awareness
• Serve as an ambassador for the organization spreading the word about DDIC’s mission and vision

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Minimum of 5 years of management experience with a proven track record in the nonprofit sector
• Demonstrated action-oriented, entrepreneurial, and innovative approach to management, particularly in a growth culture
• Experience working with a diverse community and embracing diversity actively
• Strong interpersonal skills, representing organizational values effectively and passionately to donors, potential donors, community leaders, and partner organizations
• Experience in developing and implementing strategic plans, including fundraising plans and donor engagement
• Ability to maintain a focused yet balanced perspective, managing multiple objectives simultaneously
• Marketing and development experience, successfully engaging the community in an organization’s mission
• Experience overseeing financial management, including budget preparation, analysis, forecasting, and planning
• Management style characterized by active listening, coaching, and effective feedback, with an open, future-focused approach to resolving issues
• Professionalism and a confident presence that inspires confidence in the organization
• Current driver’s license with access to transportation for visiting partner sites, with an ability to lift up to 25 lbs
