The Downtown Denver Islamic Center (DDIC) is proud to announce we have received a $50,000 Colorado Gives Foundation grant. The grant will directly support immigrants, refugees and low-income families in Jefferson County with food access and nutrition program navigation.
Specifically, the grant will be used to support up to 200 Jefferson County families with food relief packages and food pantry services. In addition, the grant will support DDIC’s family navigation team as they provide personalized support to increase the enrollment of Jefferson County residents in SNAP, WIC and Double Up Food Bucks.
Immigrants often face stigma, language barriers and fears about enrolling in public programs. Thanks to Colorado Gives Foundation for supporting our work to help bridge these gaps in a culturally sensitive and trust-building way.
