Downtown Denver Islamic Center (DDIC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Rafaat Ludin as its new Executive Director, effective July 1, 2026.
As Executive Director, Ludin will lead the organization’s efforts to expand and support humanitarian services for New Americans and low-income families of all faiths and backgrounds across the Denver metro area.
Ludin’s career spans more than 30 years of community development and international program management experience in both non-profit and for-profit sectors. Prior to joining DDIC, he led Dar al Islam, a nationally recognized Islamic educational and spiritual retreat center, where he oversaw operations and finances, drove donor engagement and fundraising initiatives and facilitated retreats and programming.
He succeeds Naveed Usman, who was interim Executive Director; Usman is continuing his service at DDIC as Chair of the Board of Directors.

He is a leader who will nurture new connections while advancing DDIC’s mission in meaningful ways.”
Under Ludin’s leadership, the organization will continue building bridges helping families navigate access to resources such as housing and health care; expanding programs for food security and financial/emergency assistance, and ensuring long-term sustainability to serve more neighbors in need throughout Denver.
